Hello, and Welcome!

 Welcome to My Own Little Corner!

This is a place where I'll share a variety of writings that may include: life ponderings, things I'm learning, scriptures and quotes that speak to me, recipes I enjoy, maybe even music.... the possibilities are endless. :) 

When I was considering what to title the blog, the song "In My Own Little Corner" from Rodger and Hammerstein's Cinderella came to mind. I discovered this song through my university voice instructor while pursuing my minor in Music, and I ended up singing it for one of my semester recitals. If you are not familiar, here are some of the lyrics, with the bolded part being the chorus:

While I wouldn't say I'm "as mild and meek as a mouse", and I surely don't obey every command, I can relate with Cinderella's words. It's nice to have my own place to "be whatever I want to be", without the confines of circumstances or even my own fears and insecurities of being viewed negatively or judged.

I, like we all, I'd argue, want to be known. However, that can be scary! To open up and share the things of the heart and mind can be daunting. With the goal of being brave and bold, I'm trying something new. While I don't know what this will amount to, if it will amount to much at all, I'm excited to think about the prospect of this space being an outlet for me to practice writing and reflecting on life more. 

I believe we all have something to share with the world, whether it seems small or not, so here goes, right? Welcome to my corner of the internet, and I hope you can be encouraged, inspired, or at the very least, entertained- ha! ;)
